Legal Question in Family Law in California
I broke of my engagement due to my fianc cheating, lying, Porn Addiction, and treating me like dirt. I was ready to go forward with the marriage until I caught him in all of that and I have a witness to the asking of my hand in marriage where a stated promises which he broke by cheating and lying. So by breaking those promises did he break the verbal contract of marriage? The money that family put towards the wedding also is twice the ring cost. In the state of Ca who would get the ring?
My other question is that he asked me to hold some stuff of his while he was at school because his dad would have thrown it out. He told me I could keep a computer because I didnt have one and he had a laptop. He told me that I could have a guitar so I can learn how to play. He told me I could have a bunch of DVDs because he had them burned to a hard drive. He has tons of other stuff that he said that he would take back on return from school but those items I listed werent on it. And so I was wondering do I get to keep those since he never used the words borrow or hold on until he gets back? Also legally do I have to keep his stuff until he gets back?

I am sorry to hear of your broken relationship. There is a civil code section that prevents suit for broken promise to marriage contracts. You may have created a bailment and therefore must reasonable store his things. How much are they worth? Contact me directly.
