Legal Question in Family Law in California

My brothers wife filed for divorce. The problem is that hes in jail. She called my mom and said that his things need to be picked up. She left the things on the front porch and said that if it wasn't picked up that she would throw the things away. She also said that we could use his truck to pick the things up. My brothers truck was already filed as non operational. I had to pay $250.00 to rent a moving truck and gas. Can I take her to small claims to get reimbursed?
