Buying a Home with Separated Man

I would like to buy a home but my boyfriend has not obtained a legal divorce but has been separated for at least 10 years. Will I be in danger of losing the home when he goes through the divorce next year because of the property laws?

If you buy the house there should not be a problem. However, if you and the boyfriend are buying the house together you should get a quit claim deed from the soon to be ex. The purchase of a house is a large cost item, which justifies the cost of consulting with an attorney.
