Buying property before divorce is final

I am a Realtor. My client wants to make an offer on a home before someone else gets it first. His divorce is not final for another 3-4 weeks. If he puts a deposit on this home now but does not close escrow prior to his divorce becoming final, would his ex-wife to be have any claim to the home?

it depends on the source of the money. she cannot get title to the house but may get a judgment against him for the amount of her money that was used to buy it.
