Legal Question in Family Law in California
CA civil matter: Process serving a subpoena, Duces Tecum. I am going to have my roommate, non-family member, and not a party to the case, serve the business that needs to be served. How many days after the service is completed do I have to get the proof of service filed with the court?
Do I need to serve opposing council also the proof of service?
My hearing is in 25 calendar days.

You don't have to file the proof with the court unless you have to enforce the subpoena in court. If it is for records only and no testimony you only have to serve opposing counsel with the subpoena, not the proof of service on the business. The POS on the business is only relevant to anyone if they fail to comply.
