Legal Question in Family Law in California

CA Dissolution of Marriage Pending for Over a Year

I filed for dissolution of marriage in

California. There were no shared

assets or children. The proceedings

were not contested. However, the

dissolution has been pending for over

a year (petition filed by petitioner and

response filed by respondent took

place in February 2007. Judgment

package was received in March of

2008). Why has it taken so long and

is there anything I can do to speed

up the process?
