Legal Question in Family Law in California

CA failed to give support $$ to NY

I have 1 child who only lived in CA for 2 mos w/me as infant. She then lived w/mom in NY. Mom fell on bad times while kidnapping child 7 years, Eventually, she told NY I never paid a dime so she could get NY welfare money. I have some but not all receipts proving better than complete compliance w/Hawaii divorce decree (we were stationed there in USAF and married 10 mos before child and I left). Even during kidnapping period money was sent to last address of grandma in NY. NY asks CA to collect from me due to misinformation of mom. CA does so only too well never asking for my side (''You are a dead beat dad'' begins my first notice or contact from CA ''If you wish to dispute send $212''. CA never gave NY a dime of its now fruitful spoils. I now have 2 seperate large claims against me for same child incl punishments and interest resulting in much bad credit. This on top of what I still continue to give to my child to this day despite no real job or professional and driving licenses that even CA Judge ordered to be released to no avail. My child is a good girl, in college and waiting for money even this week which I will try to make happen again as usual. Can this be remedied? I have been used up. The pain is unbearable. Help!

Re: CA failed to give support $$ to NY

You will need to file a motion requesting an accounting with the superior court where your judgment is registered. The court can then determine where the money went. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
