Legal Question in Family Law in California
CA: Kids dad was released from his employer last week Thursday from a really good government job. According to him, the way he was hired on board was illegal. He was released before his probation period was over. I'm pretty sure there's more to the story which he lacks to tell.
We legally share 50/50 custody, however, our kids are basically with me or my family.
My question is, what legal steps should I take to change the custody agreement since he's out of a job?

This answer should not replace the legal advice you should seek in an office consultation with an attorney skilled in California Family Law.
The loss of a job per se is not a strong justification to change a parenting plan. If anything, there is a strong liklihood the father may file a motion to modify downward the child support due to the loss of his job. If you elect to modify the parenting plan, you need to file a motion with the court requesting that relief.
