Legal Question in Family Law in California
In CA I signed a contract to reduce child support due to the fathers refusal to pay current order of 10 years he is a skipper with jobs. I found out he has a contractor license he put in his girlfriends name to avoid detection and wage garnishment. The owner recieved many wage assignment but ignored them for 2 yrs. I was financially overdrawn in bank acct 700.00 and had pawned everything incl.wedding ring to support my 2 girls. He paid an attorney and stopped paying me. With the employer on the phone and him telling me if I dont sign He will give the offered 2,500.00 to his attorney instead of paying me and promised He would never pay the 117,000.00 he owed in arrears and said he would continue to not give me a dime unless I accepted the contract as they worded it they coerced me into signing a totally lopsided contract so I could get out of debt and feed my girls. The order is 992.00 a month so I technically got two and a half months of ordered support that was not paid for the past 4 months no support prior to signing. what is my best defense to void the contract I signed ?

You need to bring a motion to set aside the agreement. First you will need to talk to an attorney and will need an attorney to prepare the motion because it is complex. You may call my office for a free consultation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
