Legal Question in Family Law in California

Ca.divorce waiting period.

I have been seperated from my husband for 22yrs. now. I`ve been with someone for 10 years, he had a Heart Transplant a few months ago, he wants to make sure I`m provided for in case anything happens. Is their any way I can get around the 6 month waiting period that Ca. Divorce laws requires? I don`t think anytime soon I would be thinking of working the marrige out.
