Legal Question in Family Law in California

Calculating Parenting Time

The non custodial parent has a visitation schedule with his 4yr. old as follows: every other Saturday from 8am until 6pm and every other Sunday from 8am until 6pm. No over night visits. He doesn't visit his son any other times.

My question is, can you calculate this scenario so that I know how much percent of parenting time the non custodial parent actually has?

When we went to court to calculate child support, the judge awarded him 15% for parenting time and I was awarded 85%

This percent doesn't seem correct to me. Thank you for your timely response.

Re: Calculating Parenting Time

If the judge calculated it already there is probably no chance he/she is going to redo it unless the time share changes. It appears that he gave father credit for a whole day for each visit even though the child returns home at night. I like his approach because that means Father has no financial incentive to push for overnights. Judges too often see parents try to get more time just to save money.
