All California is going to do is collect the money on a sister state judgment. If you want to modify the amount you need to file a motion in Colorado. You don't have to be present if you have an attorney appear at the hearing.

In certain situations the California court may modify a out of state child support order. If the child and/or other parent still lives in Colorado, generally the California court may not modify the order. This is something that you should talk to an attorney about because it is complex.
