Legal Question in Family Law in California

In California, if an attorney has withdrawn from a client, can that attorney represent the same client for the same case again? My ex's attorney withdrew and my ex is now not represented. I'm about to file a motion in child custody and I am curious as to whether my ex could retain the same attorney she had representing her in this case.

It depends on why they withdrew. If they withdrew for an ethical reason, they could not become the attorney for the party again unless the ethical problem was resolved, depending on what the ethical reason was.
