Legal Question in Family Law in California
California - child custody
A non-custodial father refuses to return 14 yr old daughter to mother with sole physical joint legal. Background- two weeks ago after daughter and mother had a difference of opinion on dicipline, mother dropped daughter at fathers. Daughter never went in house. She somehow had a grandmother pick her up never informing the custodial mother, and only found the child by calling the father two days ago. No call was ever made by grandmother or father to custodial mother. Father had not seen child for years no b-day presents, cards, or xmas. He does pay the same amoount child support for 12 yrs. Now child cried to father and she does not wish to return and has lied to father re: mother's parenting. Father refusing communication undermining mothers authority and has stated he will be enrolling child in school etc. without mother involved. Child is currently home schooled by mother and has missed school for 2 wks that time. What steps can mother take call law enforcement, DA, go to court?

Your position does not appear to be very strong. Why would you drop your daughter of in front of her fathers house, when he has not seen her for years? Also why would you drive away without knowing that she went into the father's house. When you go to court you should be prepared to answer these questions.
