California Community Property Question

My finance bought a home 2 years before we began living together. We have lived together for 3 years and will be getting married this year. He wants to keep only his name on the title for the home. What does this mean to me in the event of a divorce?

This means that the property will remain to be his separate property. There may be some reimbursement to the community for an equity pay down, but it generally does add to much. If it were transferred to joint names he would still have a right to reimbursement to the value of the equity at the time of the transfer. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
