Legal Question in Family Law in California

In California, can a divorce and custody case be put on hold after the judge has ordered a 730 evaluation ?

I filed for divorce back in June and we have a child together. we're both asking for the custody of the child. We've been to court twice and now the judge has ordered for a 730 evaluation (child custody evaluation) to help him decide the best interest of the child. I am having second thoughts about the whole thing but I don't want to dismiss the case yet. Can I put a hold on the case at this point?

If the other party to the case agrees to put the matter on hold, the court will typically consent to your agreement.
