Legal Question in Family Law in California
(california) I have been divorced for over 2 years now and just received and income and expense declaration from my spouses attorney. I had inquired with the attorney and he stated that our judgement was a status only and not a final. Not sure if this means we are heading back to court or not. Do I need an attorney for this filing or is this just a protocal to finish the final.

What it means is you are legally divorced but your financial issues are still unresolved. There is no way even to guess from your question whether this is a big deal or just a formality that needs to be cleaned up. If you have very little or not community assets and/or debts, or you have a satisfactory agreement on division of property and debts, it may be just a formality to get things finalized. If you have enough assets and/or debts to fight about, and you don't have agreement, then you better get a lawyer.
Unfortunately, you have not provided enough informaion in order to give you a considered response. If everything has been settled to your satisfaction then an attorney is probably not necessary. If not, then you should at least speak with an attorney. Please feel free to review our site for information at: losangeles-orangecountylawyer.com
The fact that you received an income and expense declaration tells me that someone may be seeking money from you in the form of an attorney's fees award. I suggest at least speaking to a family law attorney as soon as possible.
