Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in the California Rehabilitation Center (state prision) and have an Order to Show Cause for Custody and Visitation next month. How can I make sure the prision transfers me to the local jail so I can appear at the hearing?

You need to request in writing that the prison officials transfer you so that you can make the required court dates. You should give the prison officials plenty of notice of your court date so that they can transfer you for your court dates. Just keep checking with them that they are aware of your court dates.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
