In California, is it required to file a Schedule of Assets and Debts with the court?

No, the Schedule of Assets and Debts is not filed with the court. It even says so on the document. However, you MUST make a full and accurate disclosure and serve this form on the other party along with the Income and Expense Declaration. The way you indicate that you have completed this requirement is by completing and filing the Declaration of Service of Declaration of Disclosure (FL-141) with the court.
