Legal Question in Family Law in California

California resident abroad for 6 months going through divorce

My current husband and I are abroad for 6

months but residents of California. We

have a 2 yr. old daughter and are going

through a divorce online. Does Cal. law

still support me (Mother) and hold true

even though my daughter and I have been

out of the country for 6 months? Explain!

At what point is India(n) law in control?

Re: California resident abroad for 6 months going through divorce

That would depend on two things: are you still actually a "resident" of California and what (if any) are the residency requirements in India

If you have not left California permanently (moved your belongings and sold the house etc.), you may still be considered a resident.

I recommend getting a telephone consult with an attorney.
