California:

what are legal consequences for disobeying court order to return property - value < $400 ?

this order would be in -or is the reason for plaintiff- filing a restraining order- not for protection but to get property back that was gifted.

Contempt, possibly a writ of attachment.

You would be in contempt of court, punishible by fines or time in the county jail.
