Legal Question in Family Law in California

Case Has Gone Into Default, Now What?

I just got the papers saying that the papers has indeed gone into default. I filed the divorce papers in June. How long now will it take for my divorce to be final? We have no assets or anything together.

The minimum time is 6 months from the date that the other spouse was served. However, this will not automatically happen. You will need to prepare the necessary documents to be submitted to the court to obtain a judgment of dissolution. You should obtain assistance from either a court sponsored clinic or an attorney to prepare the needed papers.
