Legal Question in Family Law in California

Cedit cards in my name without permission

I am going through a divorce and just found out my spouse has over 24 credit cards she has in my name. Most are over the limit. What can I do to stop this from happening? Will I be responsible for paying the debt even though I never applied for the cards or use them?

Re: Cedit cards in my name without permission

The answer will depend upon additional facts. Such as when she opened the credit card accounts, what did she use the credit cards for, and when she made the charges. You should contact each of the 24 credit card companies with a letter stating that you did not authorize the credit cards and you want them canceled. If you have an attorney discuss this issue with the attorney. If you do not have an attorney then retain an attorney to help you with matter.
