What are the chances of a judge awarding 50/50 custody for a 8way month child who has lived with the mother the entire time and the father works 4-5 days a week on a non constant schedule.

Unlikely with the limited facts you set out. The timeshare will be structured to meet the child's needs. Most likely the court will order a timeshare for father appropriate for the child's young age.
