Name Change at age 10. at age 28 unable to get drivers lic in calif
was adopted at age 1yr. A victom of child molestation at till age6. Had a child alone baby boy, at age 10 moved state and changed his name not legal just with schools. He then joined the Army at age 18yrs, completed 4years of Service. Now Married and moved back to where he was born and can not get a licence under the name he has been useing since he was 10yrs old. The state of calif insitest that he gets a bith cert. and won't accept his airzona drivers licence as prof of his idenity. With out legal expence or court cost is ther some way to obtain a drivers licence in calif. under the only name he now knows no fault of his. thank you his mother

This is a unique situation. The only solution I can see is to have the name legally changed from the birth name to the name he has used throughout his life. This can be done in the court of the state where he lives, and an attorney should not be necessary. He will probably need his birth certificate, and there will probably be some sort of filing fee.
