Legal Question in Family Law in California
Change Attorney
I currently have an attorney who has handled my family law case; however, I no longer want him to represent me. I want to represent myself from this point forward. What do I need to do to represnt myself? What forms do i need to cvomplete?

Hello- You need to fill out a Substitution of Attorney form and have your former attorney sign it and put yourself as the new attorney/in pro per.
Re: Change Attorney
Following up on Ms. Calvert's response, your attorney normally will prepare the substitution of attorney for you. Most important is that you obtain a copy of your complete file at the time the substitution is made. Most offices will provide a copy at that time. Finally, you are entitled to your file even if your account is not fully paid or delinquent.
