Legal Question in Family Law in California

Change of Court Venue

I have physical custody of my 6 year old daughter. My ex is taking me to court because she wants our daughter to go to school with her and live with her full time. We live about an hour and half apart. My questions is this. Since, my daughter lives with me, can I change court venue? If yes, what is the procedure and are there any court costs to this? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Change of Court Venue

Yes, you can change venue to the County where the child resides. You have to file a motion to do this and there are court fees for doing so. You also may require attorney assistance. If you would like further assistance, feel free to contact my office.
