Legal Question in Family Law in California

Name change to husband's last name in my Green Card

Hello,

I want to change my middle name and last name to that of my husband's.

I have a Green Card in my maiden name. My husband's Green card is in his name. I have a marriage certificate, but not from this country (Certificate is from India).

I have been using the new name socially for over an year.

I can change the name on SSN, Driver's ID, Passport, Credit cards, but how do I change my name on my Green Card?

Thank You

Thank you for your inquiry. I do not have a legal opinion for you, but a good place to start is the INS. They must have a procedure for name changes.
