name change

i live in california and was married two years ago in nevada. at time of marriage i kept my maiden name on marriage certificate. now, two years later, i would like to have my husbands name. he is in military and they require what is on license as legal document. how do i get last name changed from maiden to his last name on license. Do I have to go to court?

Re: name change

Legally you can use any name you want without going to court but there is an easy procedure you can file to have a court legally change your name if you want to. Any lawyer can do this for you at a fairly low cost.
