Under the Uniform Child Cutody Jurisdiction Act, You could obtain child custody orders in Tennessee. You would have to either prove to the Tennessee court that the father no longer lives in California, or get a court order in California that gives you permission to proceed in Tennessee.

Talk to a Tennessee Lawyer. You will probably need to register the order in Tenn and then modify the order, unless the California order states that California retains jurisdiction, then you need to modify the California order first. Pat
