name change

i am 20 years old and have my fathers last name on my birth

certificate and i want to change my last name to my mothers maiden name.. how do i go about doing this?

Good Morning: In California, file a petition in the domestic/divorce courts. It is quite simple and you do not need approval of anyone since you are over 18 years of age. Once approved by court, make certain you change Social Security, etc., etc. Thanks for Question., Don Holben 800-685-6950.
