changing child name
I have a 5yr son, I pay child support and I have him every other wknd. His mother and I were never married and we broke up a few months before he was born she did not tell me of his birth until a week after giving birth, during which she gave him her last name and did not put me on birth certificate. How do i go about changing his name to my last name or at least adding my last name to his current name. also is there a way that i can be added to the birth certificate as the father.

As far as getting yourself on the birth certificate, that I do not know. I suppose, as the father, you could file a petition for name change on behalf of the boy in the Superior Court. Of course, you have to give her written notice of your petition and she could come to court and oppose it and then will be up to the judge.
