Can I charge my ex-husband 10% interest on the spousal support money he owes for the past year?

Yes, provided that the award is not an arrearage award. (Fam. Code, � 155.) If the order for spousal support is for continuing support, then each payment accrues interest when it is past due. If he has been timely paying you, it would not accrue interest. If he has been missing payments, it accrues interest at the rate of 10%. �Interest accrues at the rate of 10 percent per annum on the principal amount of a money judgment remaining unsatisfied.� (Code of Civ. Proc., � 685.010 (a).)
