Legal Question in Family Law in California

charging rent

My mother in law saw a program on TV and is now on a rampage. She moved out of family home and shortly after, my father in law's girlfriend moved in. Can my mother in law charge/get rent for the time the girlfriend lived in the ''family home''?

She can get rent from your father-in-law.

Re: charging rent

Maybe. Are they in-laws dissolving their marriage or separating? If the issue of property division is before the court, then she can ask the court to charge husband for renting the house from the community.
