Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can this be child abuse

My granddaughter who is 7 ststed to me that if she tells a lie her father will make her do a series of exercises.

These are not normal exercises you would do doing P.E. for her age, but painful excercises that they use to condition our Army soldiers, 1 leg push-ups, flutter kicks, the chair, whereas you are in a position as if riding a motorcycle and your knees are bent arms in front; but she is required to also hold weights such as canned food while staying in this position.

She stated they hurt so bad and her arms would just shake. These excercises are extremly hard for a military person, let alone a 7 yr. old. Some of these excercises can cause stress fractures in adults.

Because he was in the army he feels this is the way she should be punished.
