does a new child affect child support?

My husband and I are planning to have a child together. He has a child from a previous marriage approximately 50/50, who he pays child support for. If we have a child together, does this affect support for the other child in any way?

Yes, it usually does. It frequently allows a "hardship" deduction, which reduces support.
