child costody

im writing for a friend,the mother made the father think that the child is his, but the dna proved he not the fathers,but the father has taken care of the child for four years and the child only know the father as his daddyand a close relative of the child as his uncle,but this father who has been taking care of the child for four yrs,since the child was born his name is on the childs birth certificate what can you tell me about this thank you very much
