child custody and abandonment

my granddaughter is 3 and 1/2, she has not seen her father since she was 3 weeks old, we live in california with her mother who has been there since birth, how do we go about child abandonment precedings? we have filed for child support over 2 years ago but he has not been found.

you may want to discuss this with an attorney in person. if you want child support to accrue, then you may want to stay the course and do nothing. if you're more concerned that the father might come back, and that is a bad thing, then look into filing a 300 petition.
