Is there an age when a child can decide which parent they want to live with in the state of California

When the child is 18 the child can decide where they want to live. Prior to that the child's desire will be considered but is not controlling. If the parents cannot decide where the child will live the court will make the decision.

There is not steadfast number, but the courts will generally take a child's opinion into consideration after they have reached the age of 12.
