Legal Question in Family Law in California

child custody answers

What age do you have to be to speak to the judge to tell him/her how you feel and what parent you would like to live with? Do the children's wishes have any infulence in court? Does the childrens best interest matter? Are there any Childre's Rights laws in the state of California? And if so, what are they?

Thank You.

Re: child custody answers

It is up to the discretion of the judge, but in any case, no child under the age of seven would give testimony. There are other factors to consider. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
