Legal Question in Family Law in California

child custody

My boyfriend is having a child with someone else. The mother of his unborn child has a history of being mentaly unstable. She has grown up in group homes and attends a school for students that cannot attend regular school. She is bipolar and has a history of lashing out at people for the smallest reasons. I fear for the safty and well being of the child. Both the mother and the father are unfit to be parents and take care of this child. The mother is crazy, in the process of getting kicked out of her house by her parents, and thinks that she can live off of child support and welfare. The only reason why she is having this child is to make the father fall in love with her and have control over his life. Is there anyway that we can take the child and put it up for adoption with a better family? Maybe someone that is fit to be a parent?

Re: child custody

you can't force her to give up the child. if she is unfit the state can take the child, but they will give her lots of opportunities to get it right before taking the child.
