Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody change

I am the father of a 8 year old little girl.My ex moved to the bay area in 6/2005, with her new husband. Her and her new husband divorced in less than a year from her move to the bay area. She has subsequently moved 3 times in the last 2.5 years, my daughter has changed schools 3 times to start a new school after christmas break. This will be her 4 th school in 2.5 years. My ex has met a new man and immediately moved in with him after dating less than six months, and now they say they are getting married. My ex wife has been in alcoholics anonomyous for 8 years prior but recently has started to drink again on a daily basis. I have put my daughter in therapy and have had extensive communications with my daughters school teacher. My question is, woiuld this be enough for a judge to grant a change in custody? I have lived in the same home for 6 years, have no alcohol oor drug problems and am gainfully employed. I am very worried about my daughters well being, she has exhibited some social problems as well as shown signs of phsycological problems. My daughter has expressed a strong desire to come and live with me, however she is only 8. There has been a great deal of instability and uncertainty in her current home.Custody Change?

Re: Child Custody change

To answer your question, yes. There appears to be a substantial change in circumstances. But until I review the file I can't be certin. If it is, then the court would likely change the orders.

Don't wait too long.
