Legal Question in Family Law in California

child custody

My soon to be ex-husband has decided to contest our divorce(we were going through a paralegal) to get more time with our children. For the last 14 months, I have had 75% custody and he has 25%. He lives +1 hour away. My sons attend child care next door to my home, that I own, and my oldest (8) attends school five blocks from my house. My ex has decided he wants more time, which does not make any sense to me. When he does have the children on the weekend, he takes the children to his parents house and spends Friday and Saturday then leaves and works on Sunday all day. Comes back Sunday night and brings them to daycare Monday monring. His family lives +1 hour away also. I am frantic that he is going to take my children away 50% of the time. He has proven in the past that he is not reliable, does not do homework with my 8 year old (who also has ADHD). I have provided more than he ever has even when we were married. What can I do????
