Re: Child Custody

You can do so, however, you must file the papers in Solano County. Given the distance you are from the court, please consider talking to an attorney to help you.

Depending on whether or not you already have custody orders will determine what steps you need to take. The court will also look at what has been happening for the last 6-12 months.

If there are not attorney's at this site whom you can talk to, you can go to www.divorcenet.com and there are California attorneys who may be able to help you.

Re: Child Custody

You might be able to file in FL. It would depend upon how long the child has been living there. You would register the CA judgment in FL, then file a motion to modify custody/visitation. Your ex might seek to have CA keep jurisdiction. THe CA and FL judges will talk to each other to decide which court should hear the matter.
