Legal Question in Family Law in California

having child custody issues now with seperated wife with three kids we had medeation were not able to agree went to court to see judge was asked if i was happy with reccomendation and i explained to judge that i was not i also expressed to judge that i really do not understand everything and i would like legal help as in attorney problem he said go ahead and get legal help explained financial situation and he said i could get attorney but i would have to pay for one he didnt care how beg borrow and so on my exwife makes $90,000 per year i am unemployeed and have been sense feb 2011 and as of aug 2011 i have badly broken my leg broken my leg and am now on disability making $424.00 per week i have spoken to several people attorneys they were not but most have said in this case she would have to help if not pay for attorney i am in california and i guess my question is there truth to this or how does law read in this state if you could provide section # or code # that pertains to this that would be great i am little lost and do need help just not shure how to go about getting it as it it i am basicly paying rent,utilitys,food,car inshurance and so begging is not option have no one to beg no family to help me and borrowing is not option due to situation finacilly my credit has been destroyed all information that can be provided is grateful thanks

With the financial circumstances as you described, you may be entitled to spousal support. You may also be entitled to a contribution by your wife towards attorney fees. You need to hire an attorney to assist you on this matter to properly protect your legal rights.
