child custody

can I legally take the kids from my wife if I feel they are in danger legally?

If there is no court order, you can do that, but then you should also immediately file for a court order. If there is a court order in place, you are subject to being held in contempt for violating it. You then need to proceed "ex parte" for emergency orders.
