Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody

I am pregnant in CA. After I give birth I want to move back to NY to have the support of my family. My ex-boyfriend isn't much help. What right do I have to leave the state?

Re: Child Custody

If you leave the state before the birth and the child is born in NY, then NY will have jurisdiction over the issue of custody. You will need no permission or court order. If you want to leave after the child is born in California you should have the written permission of the father or an order of the court to move the child out of state.
