Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child custody qestion

I just filed for child custody of my daughter on tuesday and the paperwork i filed need a dated to start weekends for her visitation with her father but it didnt say that it takes effect right away, so do i still have to let her go with him or do i wait for the court date? i really dont feel safe giving her to him because there is no real set agreement signed by a judge, but everytime she is with him and comes back she is sick or something is wrong with her, so am i required to let her go with her father?

you're only required to follow signed court orders.
