Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody -Relocating

My grandson was taken into CPS custody and my daughter was staying with a friend at the time, she would like to move back to the county where she originally lived is it possible to transfer her CPS case. There are more resources available where she used to live. The CPS worker told her in court she was not going to allow her to move.

Re: Child Custody -Relocating

She should discuss moving with an attorney. As a general rule she has the right to move and the cps case should be moved to the county in which she moves. She should investigate the cps policy in that county. Some counties are much more stringent in the requirements for the return of a child.
