Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child custody stipulation

My child custody order was for joint legal custody. Our child was to be with me one week and my ex one week. She was 4 yrs old at the time. This agreement lasted for about 1 year. Before school entry it was agreed that she would be with me except for weekends. This has gone on for 6 years without a problem. I recently requested child support from the District attorneys office. He has never had to pay any child support because i never enforce it. There is a court order for 140.oo a month from 1994. Since i requested child support, my ex now wants my daughter back one week with hime and one week with me. The court order does read this. Does she have to go. She is in the 4th grade and is doing well. She is also in sports and many other activities. This would really disrupt her life. I am going to modify the order, but in the meantime, does she have to go to his house until the order is modified. She is 10 years old. She does not want to go.

Re: Child custody stipulation

You should immediately have the custody agreement reviewed by an attorney. You should follow the court order for visitation until it is changed.

You need to act quickly in this matter.
